The Department of Environmental Health Sciences in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health seeks to fill an open-rank tenure track position (i.e., Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). Candidates should be exposure scientists with expertise in advanced sensing methods and in a focused research program relevant to modern exposure assessment in environmental or occupational health. Candidates should have an interest in the development and application of sensor systems for the assessment of multiple, simultaneous environmental exposures or biological responses in workplaces and communities. Examples include application of sensors to measure physical activity, heat stress, and air quality; development and engineering of sensors; management and analyses of the big data streams from sensors; engagement with communities and stakeholders using sensors; statistical and mathematical models for integrating sensor data with other measured or modeled data to improve exposure assessments for epidemiological analyses, job analyses, health impact assessments, or related areas. Substantive areas of interest include Environmental Health, Environmental Justice, Air Pollution, Ecosystem Health, Global Health, Climate Change, or Occupational Health. Candidates with a doctoral degree in environmental or occupational health sciences, exposure assessment, epidemiology, public health, medicine, nursing, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, or related field are being sought. It would be an asset if candidates held or were eligible for professional certificates in environmental or occupational health (e.g. industrial hygiene).
