Air Quality / Environmental Specialist

Description: The future of air quality is changing as new technology enables anyone to measure air pollution anywhere at any time. TD Environmental (TDE) helps clients use new, low-cost air quality monitors to make sense of the air we breathe. TDE provides strategic consulting; innovative air monitoring; training and capacity building; data management, visualization, and analysis; and school education programs. We’re seeking a full-time or part-time employee to work on a wide range of air quality projects involving cities, schools, and community organizations. You’ll be at the forefront enabling people to use this new technology in the battle against air pollution and climate change.

Responsibilities:

• Manage projects on air measurements, air quality analysis, and school education
• Communicate results to clients in reports and meetings
• Write selected reports and stories
• Develop educational training programs, curricula, and materials for middle and high schools and community organizations
• Conduct user needs surveys with a wide variety of organizations
• Perform research and analysis on environmental science, air monitoring, and policy 
• Assist in deployment of air sensors for cities, community groups, and other organizations

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
• 5 years’ experience working in the environmental or science with collecting, analyzing, or interpreting environmental data
• Ability to work remotely, independently, and virtually (preferably located in the western US)
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Great written and oral communication skills
• Superb problem-solving skills
• Strong desire to work with new technology
• Passion for air quality and environmental science
